Roger Bowman received his B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from Arkansas State University and his M.F.A. in Printmaking from the University of Iowa. His skill in these three media is demonstrated in the beautifully drafted and colored works in this collection. The texture, light, composition and tone in these still lifes intermingle to create a cohesive yet magical statement. His objects are natural but not always true to life, believable yet slightly fantastic. Bowman reveals the vulnerability of nature and beauty, as his subjects show the time worn effects of age and use.
