Fance Franck was born and raised in Texas, but moved to France to pursue an advanced degree in French literature, philosophy and aesthetics at the Sorbonne. She remained in Paris, where she Lived and worked up until her death in 2008. She worked in porcelain and utilized the wonderful and delicate qualities inherent in that clay. Franck traveled, worked, lectured and exhibited extensively in the United States, France, China, Japan, England, Switzerland and the former Soviet Union.

Along with numerous honors for her work in porcelain and with red glazes, works by Franck have been accepted into the collections at the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
