Still lifes, landscapes, interiors, and architectural and figurative studies are the primary subjects I photograph. No matter what the subject, however, there is an emphasis on spacial harmony in my compositions. This comes from a desire to elegantly distill whatever I am photographing into its essential design elements.

My love of symmetry, repetition, and patterning is inspired by motifs in folk art. I use a variety of these devices in my photographs. For example, with certain images the symmetry of the mirrored diptych enables me to more effectively convey my sense of the subject, while at the same time creating a completely new composition. At times I use enamel dots to embellish my photographs, as well. Always, my aim is to create an art tending toward the “decorative”, in the best sense of the word .
