Notes From the Director
More than two decades have passed since friends and clients, Fred and Edith Bloom, asked if we might look at the pots of an artist and friend of theirs: Brother Thomas Bezanson.
Fortunately we said "yes" and the rest of the journey has been magical. Brother Thomas' work captured our eyes, hearts and souls. His work has served as a profound education in the fine art of pottery and in great part has also set the direction, tone and standard for all that we have tried to create at the Gallery.
Brother Thomas' complete devotion of energy: physical and spiritual, ongoing search for the beautiful, remarkable decency, and profound intelligence has served to expand our artistic horizons and has helped us embrace the art of many other fine art potters.
His deep knowledge of the history of clay has been shared with us and enabled us to expand into the areas of folk inspired art as well as maintain a commitment to "imperial" traditions in clay.
All of our efforts have culminated in an ever expanding collection of fine art pottery and our invitation to you to share it with us. Thank you.
