Sculpture & Prints by the Inuit People of Nunavut

Represented by Pucker Gallery since 1974

The Gallery has been privileged to exhibit the varied and beautiful soapstone and quartz carvings of the Inuit for nearly four decades. Themes of indigenous flora and fauna, hunting, domesticity, and mythology are skillfully and diversely treated in the various regions of Canada's Nunavut province. Inuit carving responds both to an aesthetic imperative and a need to understand the often harsh and threatening environment.
